The ProTrainings First Aid at Work Level 3 (VTQ) qualification (FAW) is ideal for most businesses whose risk assessment has identified that they require a fully trained first aider for their workplace. All courses are delivered, evaluated and quality assured to meet the new guidelines and meet the requirements of the First Aid at Work (First Aid) regulations 1981 and subsequent changes.
The SIA will accept this training certificate for those seeking employment in the door supervision and security guard sector.
All our first aid courses fully meet the latest UK and European Resuscitation Council Guidelines as per the HSE requirements. ProTrainings Vocational Training Qualifications (VTQ) are fully recognised by the HSE as Trade Body Qualifications.
This course must be at least 18 contact hours and run over a minimum of 3 days and the certificate is valid for 3 years. To renew you need to attend a 12 contact hour 2 days FAW requalification course.
In May 2016 the HSE and Awarding Organisations announced that computer-based blended training is now allowed for all workplace first aid courses. You can now become a fully qualified First Aider in the workplace, with two days of classroom training after completing this online course. Please note that learners undertaking a ProTrainings Trainings Course have the option to choose to take a regulated qualification. The ProTrainings First Aid at Work Qualification is accepted by TQUK as a qualification for first aid instructors who wish to offer their regulated qualifications. This is because it meets all of the required learning outcomes and due diligence.

Arrival
Please aim to arrive around 08:50am. The site is secured and there is a gate which may be closed upon your arrival. A buzzer on the right-hand side will allow you to communicate directly with the gatekeeper, who will then open the gate. This is relevant to those intending to access the venue on foot or by vehicle.
Parking
A spacious car park is available on-site, and any designated parking bays are suitable for use. Signs will guide you to the training room/area.
Clothing
For first aid training, comfortable footwear and appropriate attire are recommended, as practical elements, including CPR needs to be conducted.
Food/Drink
Lunch is not provided on-site or as part of the course. We suggest bringing a packed lunch and snacks (there is a fridge to keep food cold if required) to sustain you throughout the training day. Complimentary tea and coffee facilities are available on-site. Nearby shops are within walking distance and offer additional lunch options such as Costa Coffee and Burger King.
Equipment/I.D
All attendees must bring:
Valid proof of identification, preferably a driving license or passport
Note-taking equipment
Laptop, Tablet or Smartphone (Recommended but not essential)
Certificate of completion for part 1 e-learning
We actively promote bringing laptops, tablets and smartphones to assist in learning and note-taking. As standard practice we try to remain paper free where we can. This includes final exams and training materials which will be provided digitally. The training manual booklet will be emailed the day prior to the start date.
Facilities
Training includes a combination of theory via visual presentations and practical exercises utilising first aid disposables, equipment and dummies. Disabled access is available if required and free Wi-Fi is provided on-site.
