This course is designed for Forest Schools to teach basic first aid skills over two days meeting the guidelines of Forest Schools. 

This course provides learners with the knowledge and practical skills to manage medical emergencies in outdoor learning environments. Covering both adults and children, it explores the role of the forest school first aider, scene and casualty assessment, and essential life-saving interventions such as CPR, AED use, and managing choking. Learners will gain confidence in treating injuries, external bleeding, burns, shock, hypothermia, immersion in water, and other outdoor-specific risks.

The course also includes recognition and management of illness and injury, such as fractures, head and spinal injuries, allergic reactions, asthma, diabetic emergencies, febrile convulsions, meningitis, heat and cold effects, electric shock, poisoning, and anaphylaxis. Practical scenarios ensure participants can apply their learning effectively in real-life forest school situations.
