Become a Fully Trained First Aider in Your High-Risk Workplace. Perfect for learning all of the essentials and more!

CPD Certified Training Approved by Skills for Care

The ProTrainings First Aid at Work Level 3 (VTQ) High -Risk Requalification Course is designed for those whose current First Aid at Work (FAW) certificate is due to expire. Instead of completing the full 18-hour, 3-day course, this requalification option allows learners to renew their skills and knowledge over a 12-hour course delivered across a minimum of 2 days.

This course is ideal for workplaces identified as high risk, particularly where there is an increased chance of severe bleeding incidents. It includes additional training in the use of tourniquets and haemostatic dressings, making it especially suitable for environments where these skills may be required.

The qualification is recognised by the Security Industry Authority (SIA) for those seeking employment within the door supervision and security sectors. All ProTrainings courses are delivered, assessed, and quality assured in line with the latest HSE guidelines and fully meet the requirements of the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981.

Our training aligns with the UK and European Resuscitation Council Guidelines, and all ProTrainings Vocational Training Qualifications (VTQs) are recognised by the HSE as Trade Body Qualifications. The FAW requalification certificate remains valid for three years, after which learners must attend another 12-hour, 2-day requalification course to renew.

Since May 2016, the HSE and Awarding Organisations have approved the use of blended learning for all workplace first aid courses. This means you can complete the theory element online before attending two days of practical classroom training. This approach helps reduce training and travel costs while maintaining the same high standards of quality and engagement.

ProTrainings offers both VTQ and regulated versions of this blended FAW course, giving learners flexibility in how they achieve their qualification. With our modern, engaging training style and years of experience delivering online, blended, and classroom learning, you can be confident you’re receiving high-quality instruction that’s clear, practical, and cost-effective.

All learners receive access to our video library for ongoing reference and skill refreshment. The HSE strongly recommends that all qualified first aiders complete an annual refresher course, and our online refresher meets this requirement.

Learners taking a ProTrainings course also have the option to choose a regulated qualification if preferred. The ProTrainings First Aid at Work Qualification is accepted by TQUK as suitable for first aid instructors delivering their regulated qualifications, as it meets all required learning outcomes and due diligence standards.

The content of this and all our courses has been independently certified as conforming to universally accepted Continuous Professional Development (CPD) guidelines and come with a Certified CPD Statement as well as a ProTrainings Certificate and for online courses an Evidence Based Learning statement.
