Silica and Dust Awareness
This Silica and Dust Awareness course provides essential information on the risks associated with workplace dust, with a particular focus on respirable crystalline silica (RCS). Learners will understand how exposure to silica and other hazardous dusts can affect health and why effective dust control is essential in the workplace.
The course covers the main activities that can create high levels of dust, UK legal responsibilities, and the practical measures that can be used to reduce exposure. Learners will explore engineering controls, administrative controls and good housekeeping, including safe approaches to managing and removing dust. The course also covers the correct use of respiratory protective equipment (RPE), health surveillance requirements and the responsibilities of managers and supervisors in maintaining safe working practices.
By the end of the course, learners will have a clearer understanding of the health risks associated with silica and dust exposure, how these risks can be controlled, and their role in helping to maintain a safer working environment.
The content of this and all our courses has been independently certified as conforming to universally accepted Continuous Professional Development (CPD) guidelines and come with a Certified CPD Statement as well as a ProTrainings Certificate and for online courses an Evidence Based Learning statement.
