Driving at Work for Managers

Driving at Work for Managers is designed to give supervisors, managers, and business leaders the knowledge needed to effectively manage work-related road risk within their organisation.

This course goes beyond basic driver safety, focusing on the legal, moral, and operational responsibilities of those in management roles. Learners will explore how to promote safe driving practices, support driver competence, and ensure appropriate vehicle safety checks and journey planning processes are in place.

A key focus is understanding work-related road risk and its impact on both employees and organisations. The course introduces the principles of the Driving for Better Business approach, helping managers recognise common causes of collisions and implement effective control measures.

Managers will also learn how to develop and maintain a robust Driving for Work policy, manage driver and vehicle risk (including grey fleet), and encourage shared responsibility across teams. The importance of incident reporting, monitoring, and continuous improvement is highlighted to help build a strong safety culture.

By the end of this course, managers will be better prepared to reduce risk, support legal compliance, and protect both their workforce and organisation when driving for work
