Our Patient Transport Level 2 (VTQ)™ course is designed for anyone responsible for transporting passengers with disabilities, mobility difficulties or other impairments. Whether you are a taxi or private hire driver, community transport driver, volunteer or work in passenger transport services, this course provides the knowledge and practical guidance needed to transport passengers safely, comfortably and with dignity.
Throughout the course, you'll learn how to communicate effectively with passengers, protect their dignity and personal belongings, and provide a professional, customer-focused service. The training also covers how to assist passengers safely while reducing the risk of injury to both yourself and those in your care.
Topics include understanding visible and hidden disabilities, assisting people with hearing or sight impairments, preventing falls, supporting passengers who use walking aids or wheelchairs, and safely helping passengers into and out of vehicles. You'll also learn how to transport medical devices, accommodate assistance dogs, maintain good manual handling techniques, and respond appropriately to breakdowns, accidents and medical emergencies.
By the end of this course, you'll have the confidence to provide a safer, more accessible and more comfortable journey for every passenger while protecting your own health and wellbeing and delivering the highest standards of customer care.
