The First Aid at Work (FAW) and Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) Annual Refresher course is designed for anyone wishing to meet the strong recommendations set out by the Health and Safety Executive (First Aid Regulations 1981), which advise that all workplace first aiders refresh their skills on an annual basis. This guidance applies across all sectors, both within and outside of the workplace.
This course can be completed online or delivered face-to-face by one of our approved instructors locally. It is suitable not only for workplace first aiders, but also for those in wider sectors, including those requiring Basic Life Support knowledge or individuals who simply wish to build confidence and maintain their first aid skills.
If your current FAW or EFAW certificate is due to expire, this course is not suitable for renewal purposes. In that case, you will need to complete the appropriate requalification course. The annual refresher is intended to be completed each year while your FAW or EFAW certificate remains valid, helping you maintain competence throughout the three-year certification period. Once your certificate expires, a full requalification course, including a practical assessment, must be undertaken to renew it.
All of our first aid courses meet the latest UK and European Resuscitation Council guidelines, as well as current HSE requirements. This course is ideal for anyone who has previously completed an FAW or EFAW course and wishes to stay up to date.
Please note that if you need to formally renew your FAW or EFAW qualification, you must attend an approved classroom-based requalification course for FAW or attend the EFAW course again.
Keeping first aid skills up to date is strongly recommended by the HSE, and our video-based online training provides a convenient, engaging, and effective way to support this. This course can be delivered in the classroom, at your workplace, or completed online, offering flexibility to suit your needs.
The content of this and all our courses has been independently certified as conforming to universally accepted Continuous Professional Development (CPD) guidelines and come with a Certified CPD Statement as well as a ProTrainings Certificate and for online courses an Evidence Based Learning statement.
