Learn the Essentials of First Aid as a Commercial Driver, and prepare yourself to deal with First Aid Emergencies.
The Emergency First Aid at Work for Drivers Level 3 (VTQ) course (EFAW) is a ProTrainings CPD-certified qualification. All courses are delivered, evaluated and quality assured in line with the latest HSE guidelines and meet the requirements of the First Aid at Work Regulations 1981 and all subsequent updates.
All our first aid courses fully comply with the latest UK and European Resuscitation Council Guidelines as required by the HSE. This course meets the requirements for Driver CPC periodic training if processed and audited through a DVSA-approved (formerly JAUPT-approved) training centre. ProTrainings Vocational Training Qualifications (VTQ) are fully recognised by the HSE as Trade Body Qualifications.
This qualification requires a minimum of 7 contact hours, delivered over at least 1 day. The certificate is valid for 3 years, after which learners must complete another 7-hour EFAW course to renew.
In May 2016, the HSE and Awarding Organisations confirmed that computer-based blended learning is permitted for workplace first aid qualifications.
Learners now have the option to complete the Emergency First Aid at Work course as a blended programme, consisting of 3 hours of online training followed by 4 hours in the classroom. This approach allows learners to complete the theory element at their own pace, before attending the practical session with their instructor.
Our blended EFAW course meets all HSE and Awarding Organisation requirements and is available as either a ProTrainings VTQ or a regulated qualification.
This modern approach to training is supported by years of experience in delivering online, blended and classroom courses. Clear, engaging and cost-effective, ProTrainings ensures reduced costs without compromising on quality.
All candidates completing our EFAW courses receive ongoing access to our video library for refresher training and reference.
This qualification is accepted across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, and is recognised in many other countries. The minimum learner age is 14.
The HSE strongly recommend that all first aiders complete annual first aid refresher training, and our online refresher course meets this requirement.
The content of this and all our courses has been independently certified as conforming to universally accepted Continuous Professional Development (CPD) guidelines and come with a Certified CPD Statement as well as a ProTrainings Certificate and for online courses an Evidence Based Learning statement.
